Honda is a very well know brand today in so many ways. There are the Honda motorcars plus the Honda motorcycles, Honda lawn mowing equipment, gardening equipment and so much more. The Honda motorcycle did stand out from the crowd in so many of its fashionable styles ever since the early 1960s. Honda had not only designed many stylish Honda motorcycles but has also produced some of the best world class motor racing motorbikes. Trial bike, road bike, touring bike or super sports model you could always rely on the magnificent Honda to get you where you wanted to go.
The production of the original Honda motorcycles in Japan started just after the 2nd World War in 1946 as the economy of Japan was struggling to cope after the war. People needed a new means of transport so the Honda company design and start to build light weight Honda motorcycles to transport the masses. It was not until 1949 that a successful model was distributed that was reliable and worthy of Japanese engineering. These Honda motorcycles were known as the Honda Model D or the Dream. In 1958 the Honda 50 was mass produced and is still today one of the most popular selling scooter or 100cc or less motorcycle.
Honda starts it trend of racing bikes in 1961 by coming first in the respected TT motorcycle race. It was in 1969 that Honda motorcycles broke another record when producing the CB range including the CB500 and CB750. The first motorbike with disk brakes and also a limit edition of sand blasted engine casing which are still highly sort after by collectors. The CB range was designed as a touring bike and all round road bike however the CR can out 4 years later to be very competitive motocross Honda motorcycles. The very next year in 1974 the Goldwing 1000cc was unleashed onto the market and is still a widely spread selling bike in 2009 all around the world.
The uprooting of the Honda motorcycles Goldwing production plant was established in 1979 and began movement in 1980. America was now the new home of production for Goldwing Honda motorcycles in Ohio. Perhaps the move was to make Honda motorcycles better competition to the popular Harley Davidson. In 1987 the Honda CBR600 Hurricane begins to be sold to the public. This is the first of many Fairing styled Super bikes to start to be produced in the CBR range. Honda to date is still going strong even in this time of economic uncertainty, Honda motorcycles are still a very popular choice and Honda still makes World Class super bikes.
